- Author: Shivangi Published: 9th Dec, 2020
2020 is a year of pandemic and new learnings. Every year all of us make resolutions to kick start a new year. Hope for a new year that brings happiness, joy, and new beginning consume us in the year-end. Our busy lives as students and working professionals, never allowed us to keep the resolutions every year. Students are overburdened with a plethora of subjects, exams, and assignments. This year, while we are hit by the COVID-19 outbreak, deciding on resolutions for students, is quite a tough task as uncertainty is spread all around. To give you a head start, here is a curated list of ideas for New Year resolutions for students!
Concentrate on Learning
With so many subjects to concentrate on, students tend to start cramming rather than understanding and learning. This new year make a resolution that you will understand concepts and won't opt for cramming. If you are unable to understand anything, then make an effort of asking more questions to your teachers. Amidst the pandemic, all classes are being held online, and you should stay focused.
Learn New Skills
Make a promise to yourself that you will either learn new skills or polish your older ones. You can acquire new skills by enrolling in online certifications or by applying for an internship in your field. Chalk out a plan and devote 8 hours every week for acquiring a new skill as it will help you in getting your dream job.
Maintain a Balance between Health and Studies
Today, when the whole world is attending classes and working from home, it is tough to maintain a healthy balance. Students are packed with online classes, and they lose track of time. Make a resolution to eat proper meals, take proper sleep and maintain a healthy balance between studies and your health. Get up early, practice yoga or go for a walk, to feel fresh throughout the day. Take 8 hours of sleep and spend the rest time eating proper meals, playing your favourite sport and studying.
Discuss About your Mental Health
The pandemic locked us into our homes, and it severely affected our mental health. If you are stressed or feeling depressed but are hesitant to express, then resolve to say your feelings aloud. Talk to your parents or a counsellor at home. Mental health is equally as important as our physical health.
Create Time for Family and yourself
The ruling theme of 2020 is spending time with family and the inner you. As the year ends, don't stop making time for your family and yourself. Take a resolution that you will have dinner with your family or any meal in a day. Promise yourself that you will devote time in a way that makes you feel elated.
Though the whole year was all about mixed moments of happiness and misery, be optimistic about the upcoming year. Your school and colleges will surely reopen and before taking these resolutions, make a promise to yourself that you follow all the resolutions. Say au revoir to 2020 and embrace 2021 with positivity and stick all the resolutions mentioned on our list of New Year resolutions for students!
