Back in the 90s when we didn’t have internet and the only source of entertainment was occasional cartoon network and playing pithu, I met my first best friend- My Elder Brother who is 3 years elder to me. He was always there for me. When we played around the park and a kid pushed me, he was there to teach that kid a lesson, or when I needed someone to sign my diary because I forgot to complete my homework. He was there! Every step of my life.
My parents always say that he is the quiet one but I beg to differ. That angel which protects me, also tormented me until I cried. Well, my parents also say that he was quiet until I was 4 years old, and maybe that is true. I love pranks and the person I love irritating the most is Bhaiya. And how long would a person sit and tolerate quietly?
My entire childhood, I was the popular kid and had many friends but my best friend was bhaiya. For everyone in the ground, he was the quiet kid but only I knew the devil in him. Both of us enjoyed doing things together like watch our favourite cartoons, ring doorbells and run away, play games but most of all we loved pranking each other, and this is one of the reasons I called him “The Devil.” We pranked each other all the time but some of them were really classic and memorable.
Pranks Close To My Heart (To be applied at your own judgement)
You’re Adopted:
Every sibling has played this prank where they tell the younger one “You’re Adopted.” My brother did too, but I was smart. I refused to believe him which is why he took it to the next level- He made a fake document! He made one and since we were very young, I didn’t know what a document looked like which is why I believed him. I was so upset, and he sat there enjoying it. But when I started crying he comforted me, he told me it was unreal. I hated him so much for doing this to me.
The Kitty Whiskers:
My brother loves to sleep. Once he sleeps, it is really hard for us to wake him up. I took advantage of this and drew kitty whiskers on his face. I just didn’t know that what I used to draw was a permanent marker. It did go away, but it took 2 days. I didn’t intend for the prank to last this long, but it was hilarious.
The Fake Lizard:
I had a weird feeling about reptiles since my childhood. Lizards, well let’s just say I feel like I’d die if they’re in the same room as me. My brother always made fun of me, and one day he decided to take revenge for the kitty whiskers. He bought a fake lizard which actually looked very real. He first kept it on my study table and then when I shouted, he came to my room and picked it up and threw it on my face. I swear, I had a mini heart attack but sure we laughed on it after a very very long time.
Crazy Coloured Hair:
My brother is so proud of his hair. He always boasted for having great hair and told me that I had frizzy hair just like a broom. I hated it which is why I mixed colour in the shampoo. I was 15 and my brother was 18. He was finally going on a date with his college crush and that’s when it happened. My darling brother had this special shampoo which he wouldn’t let anyone touch so I mixed colour in it. He came out of the shower with pink hair. He was furious, but thanks to me his date could not stop laughing that day and now she is my sweet bhabhi.
Empty Chocolate Wrappers:
So, this is something we both did. If either of us had chocolates hidden in the refrigerator, and the other found it- We ate it. Not only we ate it but stuffed plastic in it and made it look like there is still half chocolate left. It was one of the most content feelings to listen to that scream.
Those were the best days of my life and I can not wait for bhaiya to come back home this Raksha Bandhan from the USA. I will surely play one of these pranks on him.
