Steps to make Hand Sanitizer at home:

The most important thing is to keep rubbing alcohol and Aloe Vera gel in a 2:1 ratio. That’s how you will achieve that required a 60-65% alcohol limit that will kill germs effectively.

  • Take 3/4th cup of rubbing alcohol, 1/4th cup of Aloe Vera gel, and 10 drops of essential oil
  • Now pour all these ingredients into a glass bowl and use a spoon to mix them well
  • Whisk for some time until all the ingredients mix properly
  • Take your old shampoo or oil bottle, wash it well and pour this sanitizer
  • Don’t forget to label it “My Homemade Sanitizer”

Facts to remember while making sanitizer at home:

  • Aloe Vera gel is used so that the alcohol alone doesn’t leave your hands rough, dry, and harsh
  • Confused which essential oil to use? You can use lavender oil, tea tree oil, peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil, etc.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap before you start the process
  • Wear a pair of gloves
  • In case you are not using gloves, make sure you don’t touch the mixture with your bare hands while making it
  • The bowl, spoon, whisker, and the container you will need for making this sanitizer must be washed properly
  • Make sure the alcohol is not diluted otherwise the germ-killing property would be lost
